Due to the design of this the engine has low oil usage and low wear rates, which reduces the costs of ownership. This engine can also be set up at either 50 Hz or 60 Hz.
The engine includes a turbocharger, an air-to-air charge cooler, requires 62 L of oil for lubrication, has a water cooled cooling system which requires 58 L of coolant and a total displacement of 15.2L. This leads the engine to produce 664 horsepower (495 kWm) at 1500 RPM and 689 horsepower (514 kWm) at 1800RPM. Oil service intervals are 500 hours as standard.
