The Perkins 2800 series have been designed to address the relentless power demands within the power generation industry. The 2806A-E18TAG1A is a 6 cylinder diesel engine with a capacity of 18 L. The 2806A-E18TAG1A is currently built in the USA and the Perkins build number starts JGAF.
The engine produces low gaseous emissions along with being durable and economic to run. The engine also can either be ran at 50 Hz or 60 Hz.
The engine includes a turbocharger with an air-to-air charge cooler and requires 62 L of oil for lubrication, 61 L of coolant for the water cooling system and has a total displacement of 18.1L. All these lead to the production of 795 horsepower (592.7 kWm) at 1500 RPM and 835 horsepower (623 kWm) at 1800RPM. Oil service intervals are 500 hours as standard.
The dimensions of this Perkins Diesel Engine are 2545mm (100") Long, 1536mm (60.5") Wide and 1808mm (71") high. The cylinders have measurements of 145mm for the bore and 183mm for the stroke. The (dry) mass of the engine is 2050kg.
The rotation of this engine is anti-clockwise, as viewed from the fly wheel.
This powerful engine can be used for a variety of high power industries, at either 50Hz or 60Hz. If a larger power output is required then placing a generator which uses this engine in parallel alongside another generator of the same type will lead to an increased power output.
