The powerful Perkins 4000 series has been built upon the already successful 4012 series, and continues to aim to meet the never relenting demands of the power generation industry. The 4012-46TWG2A is a 12 cylinder 46 L turbocharged diesel engine which is currently manufactured in Stafford, UK. The Perkins build list for this engine model begins DGKM.
The 4012-46TWG2A only runs at 50 Hz however it is still a very capable and versatile engine. It also has the option of coming with a temperate or tropical radiator.
The turbocharged and air to water cooled engine requires 177 L of oil for lubrication, 196 L of coolant for the water cooling system and has a total displacement of 45.842L. All these lead to the production of 1641 horsepower (1224 kWm) at 1500 RPM and an excellent power to weight ratio.
This Perkins Diesel Engine has dimensions of 3714mm (146") Long, 1780mm (70") Wide and 2255mm (89") high. The cylinders have dimensions of 160mm for the bore and 190mm for the stroke. The (dry) mass of the engine is 5220kg.
The rotation of this engine is anti-clockwise, as viewed from the fly wheel.
This powerful engine can be used for a variety of high power sectors around the world. This would be done by pairing the engine with an alternator to make a generator. To further increase the power output the generator set can be placed in parallel with other generators.
Full time assistance is available from the Perkins team to ensure your engine is always maximising its efficiency and productivity. The team are located around the world and have a selection of modern web based tools which can help solve a range of issues including identifying parts, technical information and ordering systems.
