The Cummins KTA38 series has been designed from years of technical development to create a future proof engine to keep in line with the forever growing needs of the power generation industry. The step timing control system allows for improved cold starting, reduced light load fuel consumption and increased efficiency.
The 12 cylinder KTA38-G3 engine comes in either the 50 Hz or 60 Hz configuration, has a turbocharger and an after cooler. The engine is currently made in India.
The total displacement of this engine is 37.8L, it requires 140L of oil and 218.5L of coolant. The engine therefore produces 1080 horsepower (806 kWm) at 1500 RPM and 1220 horsepower (910 kWm) at 1800 RPM.
The engine is available for use in diesel generators at Prime (PRP), Standby (ESP) and Continuous (COP) power ratings making it a versatile engine.
This Cummins Diesel Engine has dimensions of 3172mm length, 1752mm width, 2004mm height and has a dry weight of 4990 kg. The dimensions of the bore and stroke are both 159mm.
This engine can be paired with an alternator to create a generator for power generation in many different industries. Pairing a generator with another generator in parallel will allow for doubled power output which increases the versatility of the engine.
Cummins offer a high level of technical support and after sales service with all their products to ensure that the engine is always performing at its best. This support is delivered via their professional global network which can help with a number of different queries relating to their products.
